Tuesdays At The Table

Now that I am back to blogging, I just had to get back into this meme. I LOVE it! I have found so many yummy recipes through this. These blogging women certainly know how to cook!
To participate post a recipe or cooking hint on your blog, then head on over to Cole's place All The Small Stuff look for Mr. Linky & post the link to your recipe. Be sure to link up to the TATT post. Then, and this is the most important part, check out all the other links for some great recipes!

Now for my recipe of the week:

Crockpot Potato Soup

2 cans Campbell' Cream of Potato Soup
2 cans Diced Potatoes
1 pint Half & Half
1 tsp pepper
1 cup Whipping Cream

Mix all ingredients in your crockpot & cook on low 4-6 hours.
Serve with cornbread, crackers, bacon bits, green onions, shredded cheese or whatever else you may want.
Talk about yuuummmyyy! Man did it hit the spot yesterday! And best of all, it's easy-peasy, I like easy-peasy.

So, head on over to All the Small Stuff & add your recipe!

Blessed Be

A different kind of blog swap

I finally had a little time to sit and read some of my favorite blogs. Normally when I'm working on my stained glass I do all of it in the spare room (can't wait to get in our new house where I'll have a little studio to work in, but that's a whole 'nother story) Anyway, when I get down to the foiling portion of the project, I bring the pieces in the living room and either watch tv or surf blogs while I'm foiling. You can see someone is always on my lap while I'm trying to do something, here's Peggy Sue our Toy Poodle watching Andy Griffith with me (look at the tv screen)

Well, I found the cutest little blog and she is having a blog swap that is right up my alley. The 2009 Dog Swap Now, I know you've all seen the swaps most blogs have and probably participated in a few of them. This one is a little different, instead of getting a partner that you find cute little things for and swap people things with, in this one you get a partner and you swap doggie things for your dogs! Now how cute is that idea? I signed up right away (does that surprise you? haha) and can't wait to find out who my partner is.
There is a spending limit and a limit of up to 3 dogs. So head on over to my new friend Sprinkles' blog and read all about it, sign up and join in the fun! I can't wait! This is such a cute idea! A big thank you to Sprinkles for doing this!

Now I'm off to work on some more trophies on this rainy, gray day.

In the words of Andy Taylor on the Andy Griffith Show....Ya'll Act like somebody today!

Trophies and an Award

The trophies are coming right along and they will be finished on time, thankfully. I just tend to worry a little too much about things like that, even when I know I shouldn't. I tell you though, being sick with whatever that bug was for 2 weeks did NOT help matters a bit!

I am missing all my favorite blogs big time! I miss doing Tuesday's at the Table with Andrea, I miss Mari's Slow Cooking Thursday, I miss Julie's daily dose of crazy, heck, I miss all of you! I promise though, I will be back as soon as our dog show is over and things have gotten back to normal around here (well what DH and I call normal)

The dog show is on May 16 and 17, and since I am the Parking Chair, we are going to take the RV down on Thursday and I will just stay there until Sunday. DH will be down Friday after work to help and he will stay the rest of the weekend, so I'll only be there one day and one night without him. Our friends with the Bullmastiffs are always there to help park the RV's as well, so it will be a busy 2 days! Most folks start coming in on Friday, so I want to be there to mark off the reserved spaces and help get some of the other things set up. I will be showing Pappy, the baby of the bunch on Sunday, wish us luck.

Now for the award Jan at Jan's Place gave me, I was so honored to get this! Thank you so much for thinking of me, I really appreciate it. If you haven't met Jan yet, head over there and meet her, her horses and her dogs. You'll find a down to earth, neat lady! Is that not the cutest award?

Here's how it works:
1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link.
2) Pass the award to up to 15 other blogs that you've newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

Coming up with 15 blogs is not going to be easy, there are so many great ones out there and I have to admit, alot of the blogs I visit are Dogs with Blogs, so I'm including both 2-legged and 4-legged friends in this list. ;) Also, most of these are not newly discovered, but ones I enjoy reading. Here they are in no particular order:

2) Rachel at A Doggie Life
5) Andrea at My Chihuahua Bites
7) Rosie at Reading Rosie
8) Deb and the Bullies at NY Bully Brats
10) Clive and the Little Man at Assistance Dog for Autism
12) My own Kids In Dog Suits (so they can pass it to doggie friends)
13) Catsmum at Susan in Stitches
15) Karen at Karensbrae Terriers
If you have already received this award then that means you do indeed have "One Lovely Blog"
so accept it in the manner in which it was given and know you are doing a great job! ;)

Lastly, I have had a couple of requests for pictures of my glass trophies I have been working on, so here you go....

The fan lamps are what we are giving for Group 1 and High Combined (Obedience) and the 3 Panel table lantern is for Best In Show and High In Trial. The last shot is what my table looks like right now. I have them all turned over to solder the backs first. I have found if I do all my soldering at one time, they come out more uniform. Seems my soldering skills vary from day to day.
I'm outta here for a bit, gotta get back on those trophies.

Tuesdays at the Table

Can you believe it's Tuesday again? Time for Andrea's Tuesdays at the Table! I have found so many recipes that make me hungry just reading them since she started this! Join the fun, post a recipe or food tip then head over to Andrea's place, My Chihuahua Bites, link up your food post with Mister Linky and go see what everyone else has posted. I warn you, these ladies are posting some awesome recipes, so get ready to have your mouth watering!
Today, I'm posting another really easy recipe (I told you, I like EASY) that is a favorite around my house, not to mention, yummy!
Pepper Steak with Soy Sauce
1 lb. beef round steak or sirloin, cut into strips
2 T. shortening or oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 cup water, divided
2 med. onions, cut into strips
2 bell peppers, cut into strips
2 T. cornstarch
cooked rice
Brown meat in shortening or oil until tender. Add soy sauce and 1 1/4 cups of the water. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add onions; simmer for 5 minutes. Add peppers; cook until peppers are tender. Mix remaining 1/4 cup water with cornstarch and stir until no lumps remain; add to beef mixture. Allow beef to continue simmering until sauce thickens. Serve over a warm bed of rice.
I'm telling you this is good stuff, we never have leftovers no matter if I double the recipe or not!
Now get on over to My Chihuahua Bites and join in the fun!

Camera-Critters

Camera Critters

It's Camera-Critters time again! Be sure to visit the Camera-Critters blog and check out all the other folks participating this week. I'm always impressed with all the cool pictures being posted!. You can get there by clicking the button at the top of this post.
Today I'm posting pictures from last year of a hen and her chicks that live next door. Yes, we do live within the city limits, but there are still chickens next door. Along with a duck and a couple of roosters that crow at 2 am! The dogs found her on this nest right next to our fence, then not long after, I spotted her leading her brood all around on our side of the fence. I apologize for the pictures not being so clear, I had to use the zoom to get the shot. I especially like the little dude that is "high-stepping" behind her in the 3rd pictures! :)
Hope you enjoyed my addition this week and be sure to check out Camera-Critters for more.

Honestly!

Imagine my surprise when I visited Karen's blog to read all about her adventures at Crufts and found that she had given me an award!

Here are the official Honest Scrap rules:
"When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Scrap" weblog. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!"

Now, the Bullies have already gotten this award On their blog Kids In Dog Suits and it was pretty easy to come up with honest answers about them, it's not as easy coming up with my answers. I mean how much do you really want to know about me anyway? Don't answer that!!
So here goes, 10 honest things about me:

1) I love a good margarita.
2) I can't stand liver, not matter what animal it comes out of! YUCK!
3) I took a whipping every Friday night when I was a kid over not eating liver! Again~YUCK!
4) I still love my job even after 28 years.
5) I miss my mother more than ever.
6) I'm excited about getting into our new house.
7) Chicken & Dumplin's are my absolute FAVORITE!
8) I love riding on the motorcycle even though it kills my back now.
9) I'm addicted to the B/W episodes of The Andy Griffith Show.
10) I prefer to spend my days at home in my pajamas.

Now I'm supposed to pick 7 people to pass this on to:

Rosie at Reading Rosie
Cindy at Tales From The Winterdark
Erin & her dogs at Erin, Bubbles & Tex
Lisa at Kssnnikkel

I know that's only 4, but everyone else on my list has already gotten the award or would rather not do this so, if you are reading this and want to have the award and post your own 10 things, feel free!

Tagged Again

I know I'm getting old and can't run as fast as I used to, but tagged TWICE in one week? Man, I need to learn some new moves to get out of the way quicker. :)

Dannielle Over at 50 Fingers & 50 Toes caught me. So here we go, the same as the other picture folder tag except this time it's folder #6, Picture #6. Rules are the same as the last one.

The dogs found this big guy hanging out around our pond last year and DH rescued him. (He wouldn't have made it very long if he hadn't) Good thing for the turtle we have Terriers who can't keep their mouths shut when they find something new & exciting to play with or should I say torment?

We put him in the bathtub for safe keeping overnight, then took him out to the lake and set him free out there.

Now, the rules say I am supposed to tag 6 people, but I'm going to follow Mrs Mari's lead, and tell you, if you are reading this, consider yourself tagged. :)

Camera-Critters

Camera Critters
It's time again for Camera-Critters! I nearly forgot about it since I have been so busy here this week! Glad I didn't. If you want to join in or want to see other folk's adorable photos, please head over to the Camera-Critters blog and check them out! You can also click on that cute badge at the top of the post to get there.

My post today is of our 24 year old Blue Front Amazon, Chico eating a Ritz cracker. :) He loves them, he also has an addiction to Bojangles' Botato Rounds, Scrambled Eggs, Spaghetti, leftover chicken leg bones and Pancakes. Birds can eat anything we eat (except chocolate, avocado and onions, those are deadly to them) and in fact, feeding them good foods makes them healthier. All of our birds share our meals. As long as you don't use alot of salt whatever you eat, they can eat. Chico, like most of the other animals in our house, is a rescue.

Now, jump on over to Misty's place and check out the other Camera-Critters this week.

The Bullies are blogging!

Alright already!!

The Bullies finally have their own blog!

I have had numerous people ask me to let them have the keyboard once in a while and let's hear it from their point of view, so today, I let them do just that! If you are interested, you can go to
Kids in Dog Suits and see just what they have to say.

I WILL let everyone know up front, I am not responsible for how they think, they are Terriers after all, and anyone who has lived with a terrier for any length of time knows, they have minds of their own. Don't be fooled by the fact that they don't have beards, they are true terriers, through and through!

I hope you will visit their site and give them some encouragement. And I sincerely hope I haven't just enabled 3 monsters!
