Camera-Critters

Camera Critters
I have missed this fun meme for the past couple of weeks, it's been so crazy around here, by the time I remembered, it was too late. I hope I got it done in time this week, if not, you can at least enjoy the pictures. :) To see more cool critter shots head on over to the Camera-Critters blog and click away.
This week I chose a few pictures of my Miniature Dachshund rescues. Both girls came from a horrible and I do mean horrible situation. Tink, the little Chocolate girl on the right, had birthed 6 litters of puppies before she was 5 years old! She was terrified of being outside and didn't know what to do about the grass being under her feet! Apparently she had only been out of her filthy little crate long enough to be bred and whelp puppies. Dumplin' came from the same lady, but I got her when she was very young so she didn't have to go through all that horror. Thank doG. They are the sweetest little dogs (when they want to be), and I have enjoyed their companionship for nearly 10 years now.
Dachshunds are listed in the Hound Group with the AKC, and don't let their small size fool you, they are true hounds and tough little cookies! They are noisy, they are loud, they are master diggers, they are fearless, they are bossy, they are cuddlers, loving, and make great ratters. If you think you might want to learn more about Miniature Dachshunds, please check out the National Miniature Dachshund Club website and learn more about these wonderful little dogs.
These shots were taken at the dog show in Chattanooga last year. When we go to dog shows, all of our dogs go, not just the ones that are being shown, and the Dachshunds always take it upon themselves to stand guard over their domain. (The Chinese Crested that managed to sneak into a few of the pictures is Racy, she was entered in the shows that weekend)
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the pictures and again, be sure to check out all the other Camera-Critters blogs.

Hey, one of them is named after ME! ;) How can people be so cruel to animals? Thank God for people like you who care and get involved in rescues.

Hmm, I tried once to leave a comment and got an error message. So hopefully this one will post.

I think it's great that you take all your dogs along so no one feels left out!

Thanks for stopping by today. And glad you're back to posting on CC!

It's just astounding how some people treat their pets. Those are some cuties! My best friend in high school had one. His name was Herman and you brought back some memories today!

Arn't they little cuties. I've always got my pets from shelters, pets deserve better live and give so much love in return.

Thank you so much for rescuing. Seeing where some of these beautiful pups come from is just so awful.

Without people in rescue, where would they be.

Kudo's to you from a fellow rescuer.

Aw, so cute little doggies!

I had a grooming shop a few years ago. My wife was the groomer, I was the cook and bottle washer. I hated picking up the big guys, throwing them in the tub, then trying to wash them, lol.

It was fun, but it wasn't, you know what I mean? I still have pain in my lower back.

Your babies look very happy. It's unfortunate the conditions some dogs must endure. Great post. I too was a rescue -wandering the streets of Memphis. Unwanted.

I like your little doggies, maybe they wouldn't mind playing with a cat?

I used to see Dachsies a lot when we'd go to Earthdog tests. They had an easier time getting into the tunnels than I did. I have to fold up and duck to get into those 9" tunnels but I love it anyway.

We're going to be in Louisville next week at that big dog show; we'll be at the agility ring. Mom loves to go and this will be our 3rd year!

Love,
Rudy
